Jon B. New Orleans Concert reviews
A great band, a great show
Since 1975, I've been attending concerts. Alice Cooper, Van Halen, Killswitch, and Disturbed have all been part of my concert experiences. This was my first time seeing Jon B., who has been on my list for a while. The 17 years wait since the release of "Core" was entirely worth it. The band was tight, producing a wall of chest thumping sound that was second to none. Jon B.'s stage show was not an extravaganza, but the quasi-psychedelic light show was well done, offering some interesting visual stimulation. The powerful atomic bomb footage used during "Down" really drove home the main riff of the song. Scott Weiland's energy seemed a bit low compared to past performances I've watched in videos. However, given his age and the toll drugs and alcohol may have taken, I'll cut him some slack. Overall, a fantastic show.
